HSBC #FUTURESELFIE


Brief:
Increase uptake of HSBC student accounts in 2014.

Idea:
HSBC wanted to appeal to students beyond the typical freebies given away with accounts and inspire the
next generation to think about going to university.

So to get students thinking about their future, I asked them to share their ambition in a selfie – a #FutureSelfie

The campaign launched with a competition to win £10,000 by simply sharing a selfie depicting your future
ambition. To support this, I produced a series of three films featuring inspirational advocates of university,
which were seeded through influential bloggers and UK colleges.

Result:
HSBC recorded the biggest uptake of student bank accounts in over a decade, helping them secure
Consumer Moneyfacts: Student Account Provider of the year.

Brief:
Increase uptake of HSBC student accounts in 2015 by 20% on last year.

Idea:
The people you meet at university can shape the rest of your life.
So HSBC set out to show students the benefits of surrounding yourself with the right people at Uni and how they
can help #ShapeYourLife

I kicked off the campaign with a series of inspirational films featuring social influencers recalling how the people
they met at uni had a huge influence on there future careers.

Then on A-Level results day, I asked students to share their dream job with us, in return sending them a bespoke
magazine cover in real-time, depicting them in the hero article.

Result:
HSBC surpassed 2014's uptake of student bank accounts by 44% and helped them secure
Consumer Moneyfacts: Student Account Provider of the year for the second year in secession.
